British School in Tokyo - Web Content Management
The Requirement
The British School in Tokyo is a large, co-educational international school in Japan for students from Nursery to Age 18. The School is unique in Japan in providing a high quality British education following the English National Curriculum.
Their core values are confidence in their ability to provide an excellent education, excellence in everything they do, and to be responsible to themselves and to others.
The British School in Tokyo wanted a complete redesign of their existing website, to reflect their caring and supportive ethos. Within the website, they required a number of specific functionalities, including a secure area for current staff, students and parents.
Our Approach
ap16 enjoy working with different design partners, and successfully do so.
This project allowed us to collaborate with our Japanese design partner Paradigm. To ensure effective collaboration between ap16, the British School, and Paradigm, communication structures had to be implemented effectively.
Communication of ideas about the design, functionality and purpose of the website was our first step, before implementation.
Our Solution
Working alongside Paradigm, we created a newly designed web presence for the school providing both an open source of information for prospective students and a secure area for file transfer/sharing.
To complete this task we used our in-house content management system apCMS with fully compliant XHTML 1.1 Strict Coding
The Results
The British School in Tokyo have a fully content managed web presence that is scalable to provide, with in-house skills backed up by an on-demand support service if it’s needed.
In this way, the school can update their site without guidance (although it is available should they require it!)
The school now benefit from online promotion and increased traffic.
