Nova International "Great Run" – System Integration
The Requirement
Nova International, specialises in the development, design, and rights management of the Great Run Series of events. These world-class sporting events cater for over 100,000 runners and swimmers each year.
Nova International is structured to deliver total event solutions from concept to implementation.
Nova International needed ap16's expertise to streamline their sales-order process in order to reduce the time and effort required to complete the annual process of issuing charities with places in the Great Run series of events.
The process of collecting orders, sending invoices, processing payment and issuing places for charities touched on all internal systems from finance to fulfilment and each system requiring manual rekeying of pertinent data before the process could complete.

Our Approach
Nova International consulted with ap16 in order to architect an end-to-end integrated process encompassing the collection of orders, the issuing of invoices, tracking of payments and the release of places to charities without the need for human intervention.
Our Solution
By integrating Nova’s Microsoft ASP.Net based Charity Prospectus website with their existing Sage 200 finance system via a .Net XML web service ap16 have provided a solution that takes direct orders from Nova’s charity partners, injects them directly into the Sage 200 sales order process and on receipt of payment automatically releases places for the charities to use for sponsorship purposes.
The Results
Through the provision of a secure integration solution between their web site and their back end financial system ap16’s solution facilitated a streamlined and improved customer experience for the charities that rely on the swift availability of their event places to raise funds for their causes. ap16's work also facilitates a significant reduction in the time and effort required to complete the invoice / payment cycle for all the charities who took part in the 2009 and 2010 runs organised.
