The Requirement
Sinclair Properties is York’s leading provider of high-quality student accommodation, serving students at the city’s two major universities and several colleges. . It offers the largest choice of fully managed student houses located in the best areas of York.
The challenge to ap16 was to help Sinclair Properties add significant value to its offering by providing students with more than just a place to find accommodation, but also to be an information resource that’s fresh, current and easy to use for all things to do with student living.
Our Approach
ap16 consulted with Sinclair Properties on its requirements and design ideas. Taking input from the student community and incorporating it into the solution, ap16 provided a proof-of-concept design that could be refined and changed to fit the end goal, along with a partnership structure that was flexible and robust in order to ensure delivery of exactly what was required..
Our Solution
Utilising apCMS, a proven in-house content management system, which is continually updated to new technology, ap16 was able to integrate with social media applications, and to take information from an existing commercial letting system to present all available property information to the web browser. This allowed the site to deliver the content in a number of ways including by video.
The Results
Through great team-work and a deep technical understanding, ap16 met all the requirements, and delivered to a tight timeline ready for the fresh influx of new students, a website that:
Is tightly integrated with the internal letting software so that it delivers property availability as well as information on student life in York.
Finds the perfect property for students; allows for registration of interest;and takes bookings to view properties.
Allows registered users and occupants of properties to advise on maintenance issues and problems, and have them resolved efficiently by Sinclair Properties’ highly skilled maintenance crew.
Provides an area for downloading all kinds of useful and relevant property information. Provides links to other property-related websites that offer advice on matters such as insurance and council tax.
Integrates to Sinclair Properties’ social media applications , such as Facebook and Twitter
