XCRI-CAP Data Feed - Leeds Trinity University College
by Colin Sinclair on 30 Apr, 2012
ap16 in conjuction with Leeds Trinity University College have been awarded funding from JISC to establish a pilot project to help standardise course data feeds across higher education organisations.
Ap16 and Leeds Trinity University College have created an ongoing development plan to enable information about courses and other kinds of learning opportunity to be shared efficiently between the computerised information systems used by learning providers and organisations collecting, aggregating and publishing information about courses.
The project utilises Microsoft SharePoint to manage course data, which provides the foundation for creating the XCRI-CAP (eXchanging Course Related Information, Course Advertising Profile) feed to global data aggregators.
The XCRI-CAP Standard is recommended by the UK government and is generally applicable across all sectors of UK education and training.
Sue Scott-Kerr, Web Manager at Leeds Trinity says: “We partnered with Ap16 for the development of the system because of their inherent knowledge of our internal systems, their integration skills and experience in the Microsoft SharePoint platform.”
Matthew Clements, MD for ap16 said “We were delighted to be chosen to work with Leeds Trinity on such an interesting project and believe the outcome from the development will benefit both students and course providers as a whole.”
