WYCSA Intranet
The Requirement
WYCSA the West Yorkshire Central Services Agency provide care service support for the five Primary Care trusts that work within West Yorkshire.
WYCSA required an updated intranet to allow the staff to maintain internal and public reference information, manage calendars and room bookings and facilitate cross departmental working, as well as providing an easy to use document repository.
We came to ap16 having previously struggled to make our intranet a genuinely useful resource for our staff. They were quick to understand our perspective and provided a clear and user friendly solution that staff were easily able to engage with. This has helped the organisation realise the benefits of intranet working very swiftly, which was just what we wanted.

Our Approach
ap16 discussed with WYCSA their ideal goals and requirements from an intranet and provided advice and guidance on the options available. Following the creation of a detailed functional specification, an iterative development and implementation phase provided an opportunity to fine tune the deliverables to ensure best fit within the operational challenges of the organisation.
Ap16 follow a tried and tested approach to all projects breaking the process into the phases of Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition. This tried and tested process ensures that all the needs of the end users of the system are catered for and delivered within budget and on time.
Our Solution
Ap16 implemented a bespoke simple clean design on top of the SharePoint 2010 platform for the WYCSA intranet and developed custom web parts to facilitate ease of access to key information.
Document repositories for each department were implemented in parallel to the intranet functionality, this loosely coupled approach providing a level of future-proofing for the system as requirements well as structuring the document repositories information.
The Results
Ap16 and WYCSA have continued to work together post implementation, with ap16 providing system extensions and general support to the intranet as well requests for further functional extensions.
